About the Journal

The White Nile Journal for Studies and Research is a peer-reviewed, semiannual scientific journal published by White Nile University. It aims to publish distinguished and rigorous scholarly output across various scientific disciplines, in a manner that supports the advancement of scientific research and contributes to community service.

Objectives:

  1. To publish original and innovative scientific research and studies that enrich knowledge, promote scientific research, and foster constructive dialogue between researchers and decision-makers.
  2. To direct scientific research and studies toward community issues and needs in ways that support sustainable development and contribute to providing scientific solutions to contemporary challenges.
  3. To promote freedom of research and innovation and to provide a stimulating academic environment for faculty members and researchers within and beyond the college, while strengthening intellectual and scholarly ties between the college and its counterparts at other universities.

Publication Regulations

The White Nile Journal for Studies and Research is committed to publishing original and innovative scholarly research and studies in both Arabic and English, provided that such submissions satisfy the recognized standards of rigorous academic research in terms of originality, innovation, sound methodology, accurate documentation, linguistic integrity, and quality of style. It is a fundamental condition that any manuscript submitted for publication must not have been previously published, in whole or in part, nor submitted for the purpose of obtaining an academic degree, nor sent to or published in any other scientific journal or periodical.

Upon submission, the author shall provide a written declaration affirming that the manuscript is an original work, has not been published previously, and has not been submitted for publication elsewhere. The author shall further undertake not to publish the manuscript in any other academic outlet after its acceptance by the journal, except with the prior written approval of the Editorial Board.

Research papers, studies, book reviews, and scientific reports shall be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief in two forms: one printed hard copy and one electronic copy, in accordance with the technical requirements approved by the journal.

The submitted manuscript shall not exceed thirty (30) A4 pages, inclusive of references, tables, figures, and appendices. Book reviews and scientific reports shall not exceed ten (10) pages.

The manuscript must be prepared using a computer in accordance with the following technical specifications:

  • Simplified Arabic, size 14 for manuscripts written in Arabic
  • Times New Roman, size 14 for manuscripts written in English
  • Main headings shall appear in bold, size 16
  • Footnotes and endnotes shall be in size 12

In addition, page layout shall conform to the journal’s approved technical standards with respect to margins, headers, footers, paragraph spacing, and line spacing.

The author shall attach to the manuscript an abstract of no more than one hundred and fifty (150) words, written in the language of the manuscript, together with its English translation, as well as keywords in both Arabic and English.

A separate page shall include, in both Arabic and English, the following information: the title of the manuscript, the author’s name, academic degree, academic position, institutional affiliation, postal address, telephone number, and email address.

In the event of multiple authorship, all correspondence relating to the manuscript shall be directed to the first-named author, unless otherwise expressly indicated.

A list of references shall be provided at the end of the manuscript and shall be limited strictly to those sources explicitly cited in the body of the work, in full compliance with the recognized academic standards of referencing and citation.

The author shall also ensure the proper documentation of all tables, figures, illustrations, images, and any other borrowed scientific material, with explicit acknowledgement of their original sources in accordance with established academic conventions.

The journal shall not consider manuscripts that fail to comply with its publication rules and requirements, nor shall it be under any obligation to return rejected submissions to their authors.

The Editorial Board shall notify the author of receipt of the manuscript within a period not exceeding two weeks from the date of submission. The author shall also be informed of the decision of acceptance or rejection within a maximum period of three months following submission, after the completion of the peer-review procedures.

All manuscripts submitted for publication shall be subject to confidential and objective peer review conducted by specialized reviewers of recognized academic competence, expertise, and standing. The author shall be informed of the review results, together with any comments or recommended revisions, within two weeks from the date on which the reviewers’ reports are received by the Editorial Board. The journal reserves the right to require the author to make such revisions as may be deemed necessary in light of the reviewers’ recommendations before the manuscript is approved for final publication.

If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the author or authors shall be required to sign the journal’s approved publication form, thereby confirming their acceptance of the journal’s publication policies and conditions.

The copyright of all manuscripts accepted and published in the journal shall vest in the White Nile Journal of Scientific Studies and Research. No published work may be republished, in whole or in part, in any other print or electronic medium without the prior written permission of the journal.

The opinions, views, and findings expressed in published works are solely those of their authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the journal or its Editorial Board. Likewise, the arrangement of articles within the journal shall be determined solely on technical and organizational grounds and shall bear no relation to the academic status of the author or to the subject matter of the manuscript.

Publication in the journal shall not give rise to any financial entitlement on the part of the author, as the journal does not provide remuneration or monetary compensation for published works.
