The Investment Climate in White Nile State with New Future Prospects
Abstract
This research addresses the investment climate in White Nile State. Due to the lack
of agricultural, industrial, and pastoral production inputs, as well as the lack of
security in some parts of the state, particularly in the northern areas 9investment has
become negative. The importance of the research stems from the significant role
played by the Investment Commission in complicating the administrative shadow
for investors. The research aims to identify the preferential advantages and
facilities9 such as customs and tax exemptions9 provided to investors. The study
concluded with several key findings, including: Ensuring security in White Nile
State is essential, especially given its proximity to South Sudan, to reassure both
local and foreign investors : Preferential advantages and facilities 9such as customs
and tax exemptions9 must be established for projects, The General Investment
Authority must be reinstated, as the commissions have proven ineffective in
facilitating investor procedures and have instead complicated the administrative
process.
